Newsletter - August 2011

Edinburgh Guardian Angels are pleased to have enjoyed the company of new children from various parts the world over the last year. Some will sadly be departing but will be leaving us having experienced a year of Scottish culture and immense improvement in their English due to the high quality ESOL teaching within our schools.

We would also like to welcome or new children who will be arriving in September 2011. Some will visit Scotland in the summer, giving Agnes, Louis and staff the opportunity to meet them and get to know families before their child starts school.

The business has expanded a lot over the last year and we are now marketing schools in Yorkshire, mainly Harrogate Ladies College and Scarborough College. We recently had a business trip to visit these schools where we were warmly received and had the opportunity to meet various staff and Agnes even became involved in some of the lessons. These are high quality schools with an excellent reputation and homely environment where the fees are at very competitive rates. We have another business trip planned to Germany over the summer when we will meet some of the Agents who refer children to our Scottish schools, in order to maintain contact and friendly relationships. To date we have been very happy to have very successful outcomes as guardians for children who have been sent to us from the very efficient and friendly agents in Bavaria. We aim to liaise further with other agents in Germany who may wish to use our guardianship services.

Our Marketing Materials for schools and agents are now available in German and will soon be available in other languages. This is helpful for parents who may not speak English and need to communicate with someone in their native language.

As we pride ourselves in having excellent host families, we have documented policies regarding our standards of child care. An updated version of our Quality Assurance Policy has also been completed.
